G2G Review: The Protection Is Real, the Sellers Are the Problem

Two years of buying Reddit accounts on G2G. The disputes work and I got money back — but I also had an account stolen back after I’d grown it, and I never once found a profile with real comment karma.

What G2G Actually Is

G2G is a gaming marketplace. Reddit accounts are a side category, listed by independent sellers — the platform handles the payment and the dispute process, but it doesn’t create the accounts and can’t tell you how they were made.

That’s the whole thing in one sentence: you’re not buying from G2G, you’re buying from whoever happens to be listing that day, with G2G holding the money in between.

The Good Part: Buyer Protection That Works

This is why it gets three stars instead of one. The dispute system is real. It takes around three days, but it resolves, and I got money back on the orders that went wrong.

That puts G2G ahead of most of this market. On a Telegram deal, once you’ve paid, you’ve paid. Here there’s someone in the middle who will actually rule against a seller.

The Catch: Protection Has a Deadline

Here’s the part that costs people money, and it isn’t obvious until it’s too late.

If you buy an account and leave it sitting, you lose your money. The dispute window doesn’t wait for you to get around to testing it. Buy on Monday, plan to use it next month, and by the time you discover the account is dead there’s nothing left to claim.

Test the moment it arrives. Log in, check the profile loads, check it isn’t shadowbanned. If something’s wrong, open the dispute that day — not that week.

Most Sellers Try to Move You to Telegram

Almost every seller I dealt with tried to take the conversation off-platform and close the deal on Telegram. It’s presented as convenience, or a slightly better price.

Don’t. The moment you leave G2G you’ve given up the only thing G2G was giving you. No escrow, no dispute, no intermediary — you’re back to sending crypto to a stranger.

My read is that a lot of the people selling here are the same people selling on Telegram, using the marketplace as a shopfront to find buyers and then pulling them somewhere with no protection. If a seller pushes you off-platform, that’s the end of the conversation.

They Steal It Back If You Grow It

This one happened to me, and it’s the reason I stopped buying here.

You buy a cheap account. You do the work — good proxy, weeks of warm-up, careful use — and the account becomes worth something. And then the seller takes it back, because he still has the recovery email and he’s been watching.

Cheap accounts aren’t always a bad deal for the seller. Sometimes they’re a loan. He sells at a price that seems too good, waits to see who does the work of making the profile valuable, and reclaims the ones that turn out well.

The defence is the same as everywhere else, and it takes two minutes: the moment you receive the account, change the recovery email to yours and turn on two-factor authentication. Do it before you do anything else. If the seller won’t hand over email access, the account was never yours to begin with.

The Real Problem: It’s All Bot Accounts

This is what finally made the site useless to me, and it has nothing to do with scams.

In two years of looking, I never found a single account on G2G with genuine comment karma. What’s on there is what I call bot accounts: two posts and somewhere between 100 and 1,000 karma. Nothing else.

Do the arithmetic on that profile. Two posts cannot produce a thousand karma through normal use — that karma was bought, not earned. And karma bought with upvote services is the exact pattern Reddit’s systems are built to recognise.

It also means the accounts are useless where it matters. Most subreddits check comment karma specifically. A profile with 1,000 post karma and nothing from comments gets filtered by any community with a comment-karma requirement — so you’ve paid for a number that opens no doors.

Verdict

Around 5% of what I bought here was actually usable. That’s low, but at least the losses were small: I spent under €100 in two years, and the disputes returned part of that.

If you’re buying disposable accounts and you’re prepared to test every one on arrival, G2G is survivable. The protection is genuine and that counts for something in this market.

But if you need an account that clears subreddit gates — anything requiring comment karma — you won’t find it here. The inventory simply doesn’t contain it.
